Studio HDRI — Vertical Front Softbox + Top Softbox, Close to Camera

A two-light setup pairing a vertical 60×90 cm softbox placed frontally with a second rectangular softbox positioned overhead as a top light, both brought in close to the camera and subject. The two sources light the product from different directions: the frontal box handles the face with a tall vertical highlight, while the top box rakes light across the upper surfaces — adding highlights on shoulders, lids, caps, and the tops of bottles and packaging.

Bringing both in close keeps the light soft and wrapping with quick falloff, while the top-down direction introduces a real sense of dimension that frontal-only setups can’t give: upper surfaces catch light and pick up form, and a gentle shadow falls beneath the product. The combination reads as soft but structured — the frontal box keeps the face open and the top box defines the volume from above. This suits hero shots of products with interesting tops or caps: fragrance flacons, jars, dropper bottles, and packaging where lighting the upper surfaces adds depth and shows off the form, while the soft close light keeps the overall look refined and premium.
